O_o seems a bit harsh to be a practical joke, and it does break the fence of the ferry as well… but who would accidentally tie a rope like that to a pickup truck? The people on the ferry sure are calm… another viral video? Kind of coincidental that they stood there filming too, and the birds… heh.

yeah, i also thought it was weird that the person close to the truck just kept on walking even though im sure he would have heard the sound of the rail breaking… 99% sure this is just a fake… or even part of a commercial to sell you insurance… i was almost expecting the words… “What Happens Next?” to appear on the screen…

Nah! This is not real. The horn gives it away. There’s no need to sound a horn in the first place, but a ferry like that would not have a horn that loud. There’s no where for the sound to come from.

Secondly, the fellas talking in the video aren’t very convincing.

Have none of you seen the Toyota commercial where this happens? Looks like an out take, and, if you watch, the guy doesn’t start walking away until he sees for sure that the rope is tightening.

This is part of a commercial for an automobile manufacturer. A guy wants a new truck - now he has an excuse to get one.

Toyota commercial with different audio. I saw it last year as a toyota-thon commercial. Others like it include a family pushing a boulder off onto their car and an I-beam dropped onto a truck by the owner.

I’m pretty sure this is an old toyota commercial. They had a series with people purposely destroying their trucks so they could get a new one. Looks like these guys filmed them filming the commercial. Notice they guy standing right next to the truck could care less about it falling off.

the whole audio track sounds as fake as hell, like a tired sound effects record. The horn, the gulls, the splash. I surprised we didn’t get a burst of overplayed rumbling thunder, or track 172: the wilhelm scream

The guys on the platform don’t seem worried or surprised.

Even if it’s a practical joke it’s the sailors job to watch carefully for anything that could be tied, anchored or attached to the boat or anything on the boat for that matter.

Somebody didn’t do his job, there is no accidents on the sea.

My money is on Toyota commercial as well. I never saw that specific one, but I bet they’re behind it. Either I just didn’t see it or it’s an alternate that they filmed and didn’t air.

I was googling for the Toyota commercials (never seen it) and all I could find is hate blogs/posts. Wow. They really pissed some people off.
