This would be a great post, except I had to scroll almost halfway down the neatorama main page to get to the comments link… and I can’t remember what I wanted to say.

Strange, but fascinating nonetheless. Most folks would never have a chance to see anything like this if it weren’t for the internet. And I bet the collections would be smaller, too, if the collectors couldn’t use the ‘net to find items.

I used to collect date nails. I have a collection stashed away, my exs father was a lineman and would bring me them when he could.

My goodness, I honestly had no idea that some people actually get -fluff- in their navels - are entire -tufts- like that common?? I … think I need to go lie down for a while …

Someone else collects sugar packets! Wow! I don’t feel nearly so unusual anymore. I have sugar from around the world. Anytime a friend goes overseas and asks what present I want, I get them to bring me sugar!

I’m with Stacy.. Who gets that much junk in thier belly button? I would imagine that showering on a regular basis cuts down on the “fluff”

    now THAT is beautiful lawnmower.

has anyone else noticed the colour gredations in the naval fluff? surely only a fool would leave their lint archive exposed to sunlight…this collection should be rescued from its owner for the sake of the nation before any more damage occurs.

The naval lint collection was disgusting. The guy who owns it probably walks around all day saying, “Pull my finger!”

    I collect the number 43.

    http://interstate43.blogspot.com

My website is full of facts & pictures of the number.

I think it is a rather strange thing to collect.

That navel fluff guy must’ve been wearing a lot of pink clothing between 1994 and 2000.

As an avid collector of all sorts of strange things, I loved this post! Here’s another strange collection: gem sweaters.

Leslie Hall has been collecting these sweaters for a while, and she started the “gem sweater” museum. There are photos of her online wearing them all.

I couldn’t get past the navel gatherer. How the hell big is his bellybutton?!?!? Does it take up half his abdomen?
Does he wear all cheap fleece clothing?
I need to know this things!

OK, when I was in high school, I kind of collected sugar packets. Actually, whenever I went to a restaurant with friends, I passed around a sugar packet and a pen, and had everyone sign it. I have a small tin with packets from various restaurants, mostly places open 24 hours, covered with signatures.

My favorite is the packet signed by fellow passengers of a United Airlines flight from Los Angeles to San Francisco. The packet was passed up and down the airplane, and finally made it back to me.

Cool post! I love the sugar packets.

(PS: I’m pretty sure I’m one of the young’ns on here, but I sure as celery remember the AOL discs]

navel fluff is real.. this is totally weird and kinda gross, but my brother dated a girl a while back and she apparently was obsessed with picking the lint out of his bellybutton.. the worst part of it is that they felt compelled to share their cute little story with me.

yea.. and the huge lists like this only need one example followed by a link to the rest.. i don’t like having to scroll half-way down the page just to get to the next post.

Glad to see sugar packets in the list. The UK sucrologists club is going strong and there are similar clubs in many countries around the world.

I used to date this guy who, as a child, cut out and collected pictures of ceiling fans. He had three full photo albums covered in them. Coincidently, we broke up three weeks later.
