If any of you skeptics ever picked up a history book you would've known that there were little ice ages in the past 500 years, and that climate change has always been occurring.

The only debate going on is whether global warming is naturally occurring or man made. Then there's the other quack jobs who believe the rapture is coming. Even the most conservative right wingers believe global warming is happening, they just happen to believe it's naturally occurring and it's not man made. The only sort of evidence people bring to the table that global warming doesn't exist is the stupid weather man argument, and "oh well, we've had a colder winter this year than last year, so global warming must not be happening". Not everything is black and white, and before I believe some idiot politician who has no scientific background, or some hillbilly illiterate idiot who thinks that watching CSI makes you an expert in Criminal Science, I will trust the scientists, especially when the majority of them agree with each other.

And before you even dismiss science, whether you're a democrat, republican, idiot, or very religious, in the end, you believe in science and trust science more than you realize. You can thank science for your MRIs, your ipod, and your cell phone.

And this idea that 100 zionists controlling the world is absurd. George Bush being in power proved that. Maybe if you actually got off your asses and stopped bringing up these ridiculous excuses and let the world spin on by, and tried to achieve something you might actually realize how ridiculous your thought processes are.

"The “climate change crisis” caused by the human involvement is a cruel confidence scam. The Earth’s climate has NEVER been constant and has gone up and down many many times over billions of years. How self-righteous these kooks are who submit that THEY can determine some particular state is somehow IDEAL ?"

Exactly, except icebergs are melting for the first time in ooohh, I believe 10 000 years.

The environment movement will be the only thing to bring back America's shit hole economy, along with collecting from deadbeats that need 10 credit cards and are 40000 dollars in debt. I'm going to laugh when GM, Ford, and Chevy go under because they try to bring back muscle cars, and other companies focus on getting better mileage.

Wow, what a barrage of crap.

There is no Global warming!

The Euro weenies and fags trying to take my SUV away!

Tens of thousands of scientists have partaken in peer reviewing the countless studies and they say....Climate change is happening.

That is of course excluding the scientist who don't believe it, but then they think the MRMA causes autism and that the earth is hollow too.

Yes the name has changed, to better describe the impending unpleasentness.

It used to be called the Green house effect in the 60s and 70s, but tards thought, "Cool, we'll be a cosy and have big Vegetables to eat from the green house"

So the name became global warming, on the off chance that the "global" aspect would have some effect...nope.

So now it's climate change, because to the scientists it mostr accurately reflects the situation.

Yes parts will warm, these are the parts that would best be left cold. And parts will become cold, the ones best left warm to temperate.

This will cause major calamity.

I prefer to be the first person to use the most accurate current terminology, which I hope may hit home.

MILLIONS OF DEAD YANKS.

See if that makes any sort of dent in this ridiculous notion that the entire scientific community is conspiring to take your crappy 19th century style car.

By all means hone your conspiracy theories to a razor like edge, but here's an idea, do it in New Orleans or some other low lying coastal enclave.

And no matter how high the water starts to lap around you, keep reciting the mantra

"It's a haox set up by the Elders of Zion/World Govt/The Socialist Easter Bunny to take my money/guns/suv/OVER WHEENING SENSE OF ENTITLEMENT from me"

Hi, i love neatorama, and usually love the great links, but this one is really quite bad.
The information is pretty shoddy on the link, why would you want to associate neatorama - usually a fascinating site - with some site which makes claims like these, including a section which says that London has a "high risk of this type of flooding, as depicted in this shot from the 2007 movie Flood"
Really, there is not much scientific integrity in that statement even if they claim without reference that scientists claim it will be flooded in 100 years.
I believe there is a lot of evidence for global warming and climate change, but i really wish that you guys didnt put this link up.

Nationalism and ethnic epithets aside, I am of the opinion that climate change, global warming, global cooling, and plants "breathing carbon" O_o ...

are cyclical aspects of the natural process of the Earth.

(Notice I capitalized the name of our planet).

By the way, plants breath carbon dioxide. Not carbon.

Write that down.

you don't believe in climate change yet you believe in an omnipotent mythical being?

what's so wrong with being more eco-conscious anyway?

Call it "climate change" so that you can better whine and beg for money REGARDLESS if the temperature is lower than average or higher than average. The global warming crowd revised its terminology a few years aago to protect themselves in the event of bad (i.e. cool) years, which would otherwise cause them to lose support.

The "climate change crisis" caused by the human involvement is a cruel confidence scam. The Earth's climate has NEVER been constant and has gone up and down many many times over billions of years. How self-righteous these kooks are who submit that THEY can determine some particular state is somehow IDEAL ?

The whole thing is a blend of 1) a scheme to redistribute wealth from developed countries and handicap them to the benefit of the Third World. 2) a cash grab from certain scientists and "entrepreneurs" to score big research dollars / Euros / Pounds Sterling and commisions from the guilty-feeling (both governments and individuals).

Wake up fools. Straight talk from Sid.

i don't think anyone who has commented on this actually knows what they're talking about... first of all, it's a fact that the environment is warming. BUT like many said above, YES politicians and other such leaders have turned it into global propoganda, which is the wrong part. there just needs to be an overall understanding that it's happening and we can't do anything to reverse it, AND ALSO BE 'OK' WITH IT. yes. ok. it's happening. let's move on and think of ways we can live among our environments as they change. it's called "adapting," and humans are the most adaptable animals on the planet. we are the ONLY animal that inhabits every continent on earth. regardless of whether this phenomenon is happening because of us, or if it's just a part of the cycles of the planet, it's happening and we can't stop it. and it's stupid to say that we can. it's also stupid to deny it at all, because then you're just showing how much you HAVE NOT looked into it. go read a book or something and compare temperatures from 200 years ago.

@jimbo- yes, temps dropped last year. that's a part of it. what people don't realize is that there are two sides of everything. with global warming also comes global cooling. they're called 'cycles.' has anyone looked at the rise anf fall of the stock market? look at global temperatures that way.. when they rise- they fall again. then they rise some more and fall again. the US economy is a perfect comparison- we saw great strides and improvement in the economy during the first years of the 20th century and then it saw the great depression. that wasn't the end of the world and the economy got stronger and stronger. well, look at us now. we're falling again, but we'll soon rise back up and become stronger and stronger. same thing with global warming. as we rise in temperature, we lose some degrees along the way, just to even out the cycles. if cycles didn't happen, we would have nothing to compare anything to.

regardless of whether you think the world is warming or not, it's still ignorant to deny that it COULD happen. before we humans even set foot on the planet, it saw three great, global transitions. there were two other large land masses before pangea, and the earth was completely underwater at one point. these things happened millions of years before us and they're going to continue to happen long after we're gone. the only reason we're freaking out is because we haven't lived long enough to experience any of these great transitions. now that we are, we think we can manipulate them to suit our own needs. nature is going to continue with or without us, so we better start learning how to live with it.

@jimbo- yes, temps dropped last year. that’s a part of it. what people don’t realize is that there are two sides of everything. with global warming also comes global cooling. they’re called ‘cycles.’ has anyone looked at the rise anf fall of the stock market? look at global temperatures that way.. when they rise- they fall again. then they rise some more and fall again. the US economy is a perfect comparison- we saw great strides and improvement in the economy during the first years of the 20th century and then it saw the great depression. that wasn’t the end of the world and the economy got stronger and stronger. well, look at us now. we’re falling again, but we’ll soon rise back up and become stronger and stronger. same thing with global warming. as we rise in temperature, we lose some degrees along the way, just to even out the cycles. if cycles didn’t happen, we would have nothing to compare anything to.

regardless of whether you think the world is warming or not, it’s still ignorant to deny that it COULD happen. before we humans even set foot on the planet, it saw three great, global transitions. there were two other large land masses before pangea, and the earth was completely underwater at one point. these things happened millions of years before us and they’re going to continue to happen long after we’re gone. the only reason we’re freaking out is because we haven’t lived long enough to experience any of these great transitions. now that we are, we think we can manipulate them to suit our own needs. nature is going to continue with or without us, so we better start learning how to live with it.

It's good to see that some people have come to realize that there is no such thing as "manmade global warming."

I believe that global warming (whether man-made or natural) is happening, but that link is a terrible piece of pro-warming propaganda. Little factual information, and even little speculation as to how each place is threatened.

Mostly they say "Look, isn't (LOCATION) pretty? That evil Global Warming wants to take (LOCATION) away from us. Bad Global Warming!"

Global warming is a socialist hoax. It's just a ploy to get more taxes out of us. Wake up. Once global warming is proved false (and it already is happening) they're going to change its name to "Climate Change" and tr to do the same thing.
