I'm not talking out of my arse :) I have to do life drawing everyday to keep my drawing skills fresh for my chosen career path. It's all about observation and after a few years of doing this stuff every day, you can tell from looking at a piece whether the observation is good or not. Even if I couldn't draw, I think everyone is entitled to critique another's work anyway!

I thought they were great! I'm not sure you guys can draw half as good as she can ;) (I know I can't draw a straight line to save my life).

Yup childish :) emjo, I have to say I rather prefer what you're doing in your paintings, they're so strong!

Anyhoo Tempscrire, I could dig out stuff I was drawing a few years ago (then I was a child!) and they would be falling back on similar techniques. I adore drawing, and I love that people draw regardless of their ability. But not every drawing is fantastic. I would love to see what emjo could do if she pushed this farther!

@ andrewdoane

The reason that I said poor execution was the quality of the drawing. She clearly isn't a great draftsperson. They look like childish doodles. I think this could have been so much better if drawn properly. Have you ever seen an elephant that looked like that? If you're going to spend so long rendering (often used in an attempt to hide a weak drawing) then the drawng underneath should be good.

Totally cool. I really like the one for Monday, May 5. I totally disagree that it's poor execution.

Great idea, poor execution. Looking at her other work, I absolutely love some of her paintings though.
