His girlfriends mother must really like his work…or hated it so much she made a bad check for him to get caught with.

Hmm. Well, presumption of innocence and all. They should have cashed it. After all, it might have cleared. Sorry to see people have become so cynical.

That is about 6 times Bill Gates’ net worth. Not only is it not possible to honor a check in such an amount, but look at the guy’s picture. Would you look at this guy (preparing to be flamed with accusations of racism)
and think to yourself “This guy is the richest man in the world”?

    Cynicism? More like Realism.

Hey the way the Yanq peso is dropping in value maybe it had been future dated and he accidentally cashed it early?

I agree, let’s wait for the trial.

ps: I don’t know about racism but you could be a blindist. A blind person I know never opens their eyes, perhaps that is how he made the mistake of putting the cheque in before its validation date?

I think anyone, no matter what they look like, is going to raise suspicion trying to cash a check that large. It’s not cynicism at all. It’s realism and luck in that someone was stupid enough to try and pull it off.

Yeah, he looks like a real winner.

Neither of your comments made any sense to me. Care to clarify?

Sky, accusations of racism? I think you might deserve it.

What should a billionaire look like? Bill Gates isn’t exactly suave.

Something tells me this guy is to stupid to chew gum and walk at the same time.

What, no pictures of the check?

    Hahahahahaa…. It begins.

Our first Flamer (pun intended) was not only the first to cry “racist”, but also managed to compare this young man’s un-showered appearance to the “not exactly suave” Bill Gates’. You do see the difference right? Are you so bent on playing the race card that you will reach so far to wrap credibility around your point.

I look at this kid and see that he is black, but that is not all that I see and that certainly does not disqualify him from the likelihood of being the richest man alive. Rather, it is the fact that realistically a man who could amass such a fortune would most likely be smart enough to at least take a shower before going in to a bank to cash such a check.

I hope I don’t have to explain why the notion of trying to cash such an amount in the first place is just beyond ridiculous.

    Sky-
Don’t worry. Accusations of racism are the internet tough guy’s last resort when he doesn’t have any other way to back up his argument. The aforementioned attempted crook has a crooked haircut and appears to be barely out of puberty. It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to figure out he’s not likely to be a multi-billionaire.

I’d love to see the check. I wonder if it started at $36.

Now, I’m off to take a hot shower.

Geez, Sky. You’re the one who brought up the whole race card bit. Now you’re attacking me for saying you might deserve a little criticism, because appearances can be deceiving? Forget about the race card - I don’t think you’re playing with a full deck.

He looks like he didn’t shower? How can you tell that from this picture? Really, Sky, the more you talk, the more you project your own confrontational attitude, especially with the “pun intended” crack. You’re simply trying to provoke something.

This is not the picture of the young dummy when he walked into the bank - this is a mug shot. Perhaps he was well-dressed and had his eyes open when he made his ill-advised attempt at fraud.

It’s probably worth noting that the full story details that he actually also got caught with a weapon and marijuana on him. So, if he’s not the stupidest criminal for trying to cash a 360 billion dollar check, he certainly gets some points for being so confident that it would clear that he didn’t leave his gun or drugs at home.

I think the most likely explanation is that Charles doesn’t know how many zeros it takes to write $36000.

  • Lea

Okay, I think the point here is he’s another dumb criminal. Really dumb one.

Or live Christophe and many others have said. Waiting for the dollar to continue to devalue…It’s bad when we’re equal in value with Canadian dollars…

Nowz I thought to myself that was a neat touch of the ridiculous as a joke…soz I joined in, espec after ‘Sky’ seemed to take it seriously but. So I made a tie-in joke about the declining value of the greenback (thus Yanq peso) and the cheque being future dated. You know you put a date two weeks in the future on the cheque and it can’t be presented/cleared till then. Get it….future dated and in that time the USD is like the Zimbabwean dollar (bad).

Ok, with me so far? Next, I reread the Sky post and picked up their concern about being a racist and so helpfully suggested it might be ‘blindist’ (he has his eyes closed just like a blind person I know always does)…thus I made a joke about that being the reason he put the future dated cheque in cos he couldn’t read the date!!!

    HTH’s : )

Now let me explain how black is really white and then watch you all get run over on the next Zebra crossing you walk over (apols to DA)
