So let me get this straight. Sin is matter; morality is decided by density?

the Albigensian Crusade “created” the first Inquisition. Talibans cannot teach us anything : been there, done that.

“Pope *Innocent* III launched the Albigensian Crusade to wipe out the Cathars (in which about 1 million people were killed).”
That pretty much summarizes the catholic church (and what’s wrong with a lot of religion.)
And I am not an athiest.

Actually. That theory is quite similar to the Christian Gnostic belief system - just taken to its rational extreme. Wouldn’t be surprised if that was the root of the Cathar belief system. Also the year 2012 is no coincidence either. That’s the end of the Mayan calendar which is the favorite date of the end of the current state of existence (not 2000 mind you).

Also would I be mistaken in correcting that video by saying that the most dangerous heresy to challenge the church was the Aryan heresy (Jesus was not divine) which was widespread in Europe throughout the days of the early church. It wasn’t until the creation and use of the nicene creed that the heresy was exterminated.

I don’t think any non-Christians would care about what these guys have to say.

There are many logical flaws in this piece, beginning with the hypnotic effect of Dr. Atkins’ hair, which may contain clues to the scrolls in it.
The general state of anarchy proposed by most end times literature (the Revelations, Cormac McCarthy’s “The Road”, Mad Max, et al) leads me to the believe the end times will in reality consist of happiness and cake. Chocolate cake. With milk chocolate icing.

Actually, this pretty much summarizes what’s wrong with a lot of religion:
In the words of Ayn Rand, “The good, say the mystics of spirit, is God, a being whose only definition is that he is beyond man’s power to conceive—a definition that invalidates man’s consciousness and nullifies his concepts of existence . . . Man’s mind, say the mystics of spirit, must be subordinated to the will of God . . . Man’s standard of value, say the mystics of spirit, is the pleasure of God, whose standards are beyond man’s power of comprehension and must be accepted on faith . . . The purpose of man’s life . . . is to become an abject zombie who serves a purpose he does not know, for reasons he is not to question.”

I must be dense tonight but I’m still not clear on what these Cathars believe. I guess I just don’t understand religious thought in general.
That or I just got distracted by the good doctor’s bow tie and matching handkerchief. -

Utter hogwash. The Cathar conspiracy theory was put to rest some time ago and very publicly.
