Did It Claw Its Way Out?

Last month, Julia Di Sieno of the Animal Rescue Team in California noticed a dead sharp-shinned hawk while driving.

But it was no ordinary dead hawk: it had a small bird claw protruding out of its chest, a small songbird that perhaps wasn't too happy to be eaten and decided to fight back! (Yes, maybe it had nothing to do with the hawk's death at all, but that's boring ...)

That's not a sparrow. That's the first evidence of the songbird take over. Soon we'll be in the iron fist of their control, feeding them seeds and bread, building houses for them, planting those plants that best suit them....Oh, my God, it's already happened, and we did not EVEN NOTICE!
Clever little enemies, clever.

once while hiking in the mountains in new mexico, i came across a dead rattlesnake that appeared to be partially eaten. then i noticed a few feet away a rather large dead rat. closer examination showed the rat had blood over it's face and mouth and the snake had been chewed from the inside out.
