Record Coke/Mentos Explosion

Posted by Miss Cellania in World Records on April 24, 2008 at 9:00 am

About 1,500 students participated in a Mentos/Diet Coke demonstration in Leuven, Belgium. Each wore a blue poncho and added Mentos mints to a bottle of Diet Coke for a simultaneous explosion! A new world record has been set. See more picture in The Telegraph. Link -via Fark

It's only a waste because no one filmed it. 'Sides, I hate diet sodas.

A video would sure be nice... I would imagine it'll show up on YouTube before too long. I've wanted to try it since I saw it on MythBusters! And yeah, it's only a waste if you enjoy diet soda. Otherwise, who are we to say what money should be spent on? I bet the kids loved it and will be talking about it for years.

It's things like this that makes having a world record so meaningless. So whoopie if you have a world record. Now you are in the ranks of longest on a pogo stick in water and furthest eye popping ability.

The photos of the simultaneous explosions are strangely beautiful. Or maybe that's just me, whatever
