That’s a miscategorisation. Wisdom has always been available, whereas knowledge is built upon.
Perhaps the saddest aspect is not the rate of gathering wisdom, but the weight of importance placed upon wisdom, and on those who choose to apply it.

I would say science gathered data or information. As sometimes the knowledge, especially at first, is usually off.

Wisdom is very lacking, and I think I agree with the quote. Knowledge does not equal wisdom, as illustrated by the ‘knowledge’ science gave us on how to build hydrogen bombs, but only wisdom will never allow us to use it.

What year was he quoted? It would be nice to know how long it’s been since he observed this problem with society. 1980? 1950?
