Tea-Over-Ice Pitchers

By Alex in Food & Drink, Home & Garden on Apr 18, 2008 at 1:23 am

Tea-Over-Ice from Tea Forté is a set of two pitchers: the smaller one, used to brew the hot tea sits on top of the larger one, which holds ice.

The idea is that after your tea is brewed, you can simply flash chill it by pouring it over the ice for a glass of iced tea (the pitchers are made from heat-resistant glass)

Seems like a great idea to me! I can’t count the number of times at Thanksgiving dinner that half of the family wanted hot tea and the other half iced.

Pouring hot tea into a pitcher of ice typically results in lukewarm, extremely watered down tea. Flash-chilling the tea would require a fire-extinguisher.

@bean- I swear it doesn’t. I’ve tried these. The ice brings the hot tea to equilibrium quickly, and the tea is brewed strongly enough to account for being watered down.

Why would anybody drink hot or cold tea? Ick.

Who needs to brew tea when the red diamond company does it so well?
