Kudos to the store for having a decent-quality camera. Cops’ lives are going to get so much easier as HD cameras get cheap enough to have them installed as surveillance cameras in Stop-N-Robs.

haa haa crossbow….neeeerrrdd!
His crossbow looked pretty cheap and I’m sure wouldn’t have done much damage given how easy it was to pull back the bow.So you would be robbers who may be planning a “crossbow robbery” you may want to get one of these:

Criminals suck.
I disagree that HD is going to help cops do their jobs. The doubt the last 50 years of advancing technology has had little effect on the rate at which criminals are caught.

Man…
I apologize for the terrible grammar and misspellings in that last post. I’m very busy at work today.

A…crossbow? Well, I’m just glad they got that on camera because I never would have believed it. I know having lived in England for two years that the CCTV system is pretty advanced. I’m amazed the cops didn’t see a guy walking around with a crossbow to be suspicious. :s

reckon that robber might come back with with trebuchet? or maybe some good old fashioned boiling oil.
p.s - how do you know that tim’s wrong? refering to the u.k…
“The detection or clear up rate has fluctuated somewhat over the years, but the general trend since 1988 is downwards. As with the statistics relating to crime trends, interpretation of detection rates is fraught with difficulties. Aggregate trends will always mask differences between offence categories, and the detection rate is influenced by the mix of offences recorded by the police. Home Office research makes it clear however that there is no straightforward policy change or set of recommendations that will ensure that detection rates improve.”

If all criminals were dumb enough to hold up stores with cheap crossbows that they have no real expertise in using, our streets would be sooooo much safer. Because really, how stupid do you have to be? I know we aren’t allowed guns in the UK and all, but wouldn’t a sword been just a tad more intelligent and effective?

Sticks and baseball bats are underrated as defense tools.

Cross bows usually have a heck of a lot of pull on them. I can never load one one handed. I have to hold mine to the ground, clamp it with my legs and use both hands. Maybe this was a toy.
In other news, I bet his parents are so proud. -

Light saber’s the only weapon I’ll need for holding up corner stores.

I agree with jessleigh. I think everyone should have their own whoopass stick in case of emergencies.
