   It wasn’t conclusive if that was an actual menu..but if it was that’s great design for the day.

   A winery right across the border, in Virginia, hosts a “last meal” dinner with a Titanic theme. I have a friend who is one of the actors. I wish I could go, but tickets are around $70.

   there’s a book called “last dinner on the titanic” that is quite good if you’re interested in preparing any of the dishes. it also includes partial menus and recipes from the second and third class menus. i think they also have a genuine waldorf pudding recipe.

   their last dinner for first class was more extensive than this menu, as it included the a la carte menu as well as the menu shown above.

   there are also tips on how to fold napkins authentically, dress the table, etc etc, for dinner parties.

   A local restaraunt in town did a “titanic theme” event with this exact menu a few days ago. My mom went to it (first class meal = $$150.00 plate. I would have had to settle for steward/3′rd class at $35 and no way would I have done that. embarrasing!)
   She said it was really fun, the portions were small, but good. Everyone dressed up for the dinner, and actual Titanic artifacts were displayed for viewing. Everyone was also given a name as they walked in, and those who were “survivors” at the end of the night got gift certificates. Kinda a neat idea.

    Nora, the name thing is really very cheesy. Maybe the restaurant could use the names of Holocaust victims and simulate what they ate in concentration camps.
    Or maybe use the names of people who worked in the World Trade Centre, and use the menu from that restaurant on top of it. Or maybe have a Hotel Rwanda night.

    The “survivors” could then get a gift certificate.

    The possibilities are endless.
