A somewhat subtle literary joke. Previously on Neatorama: William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy singing.

Anyone with that deep of a voice must have a huge wang...

Yikes, that wasn't what I was expecting.

That "literary joke" was a bit too subtle for me. I don't get it.

The actual performance was pretty cute. Watch for the Uhura cameo!

If his partner sucked as much as Shatner's acting, Takei would never leave his villa...

I am as well-read as the next guy but I'm at a loss for what the subtle literary joke is here. Perhaps it's only comprehensible to those who've partaken in the large quantities of Star Trek 'literature' that is available at their local discount bookseller?

Haha, I wasn't offended by your joke, it sounds like something I would say actually :D I just wasn't expecting it here in the mostly clean Neato comment section :P

Bahahaha, just watch the vid!!! It's always good that you can laugh at yourself right?

Is the secret that he cannot keep time? Talk about rushing! Maybe he couldn't her himself in relation to the band. In any event, I am with Ursula, as the "literary joke" was a bit too subtle for me as well.

A few lines of the lyrics read:

Goin' places that I've never been
Seein' things that I may never see again

If you're a fan of the show or have even a small knowledge of it you should be able to get it pretty easily!

lol @ Jerse. While you can dream about Mr. Takei's wang all you want, a deep voice would be more likely porportional to large testicles, not a large wang. (since they produce testosterone, and that deepns the voice.)

I can't help but think of Donkey from the movie Shrek singing "On the Road Again". ;)

Man, that song went at warp speed. It looks like he had fun, that's the main thing I guess.

The show was "Secret Talents of the Stars."

Didn't we just learn last year about another of his secret talents?

Geez, it was as if he was trying to be intentionally bad so he can can join Bill and Leonard in the pantheon of bad Star Trek singers.

    Mission accomplished!

I was so disappointed to see one of my life long favorite actors turning into one of those VH1 celebs. I really thought he had more respect for himself than that.
That said, Kirk rules, Picards a pussy.

That is really shameful. Just goes to show where too much money and a bevy of dishonest flunkies can get you.

And usually subtle literary jokes refer to literature. Unless it's like the "our god is awesome" joke - then, I'm just losing my sense of humour here.
