That is incredibly cool!
“Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world’s first bionic man. Steve Austin will be that man. Better than he was before. Better. Stronger. Faster.”

Amazing! They’ve come a long way from hooks and pulleys.
Now they just need to make one that can get wet. Being able to use something like that in the shower would be a huge plus.

Yes. Very amazing. I wish the would have miced Dean Kamen a bit better. I could only hear him mumbling.
This is quite an improvement over those dorky (yet strangely cool) Segways. -

That was pretty amazing.
however, the guy said he could pick up a peeled banana without squishing it not that he could peel it. I bet that in a few years they will make peeling a banana possible.

Check out some of Dean’s crazy-ass wheelchair work:

And yes the sound mix on Mr. Kamen is awful. “Luke arms” but no THX sound. Damn shame.

Totally incredible! I simply cannot imagine being without two arms and two legs, but so many people have to live that way. We should be very thankful to what we have.

Amazing stuff. Dean Kamen is one of those revolutionary inventors like Burt Rutan who can think way, way outside the box. Go to it, folks!

Wow. The most impressive think about all of this is that despite the degree of this guy’s amputation (above the elbow), the machine is still able to allow him to control fingers individually. That’s the holy grail of prosthetics right there. They’ve been able to sense tension and control (grip) but it was like a vice. Two ends open and close (thumb+all fingers)…. Individual finger control. Holy cow. Amazing. My jaw dropped when he picked up the cordless drill.
