Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenoceros

Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenoceros is a song by the two-man band, Flight of the Conchords. The guys bill themselves as "formerly New Zealand's fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo".

Funnest thing is they applied for funding for their show many times here in NZ and were deemed not to be very good and so, no funding.

So they moved......to America.

We want them back now. :)

Saw these guys at South by Southwest in 2006 and got to talk to them after their performance. Nice guys...I wish them the best. Can't wait for Season 2 of their show on HBO!

Ah love Flight of the Conchords... I think I liked them more before they got the tv show, it was like this cool secret that not everyone knew about...still, at least everyone can appreciate their genius! Anyhoo my favourite is the David Bowie song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iR2L98gobTQ

But then again I love David Bowie too so putting them together? Genius!

I have been humbled here tonight. I read the description and thought "Wow, that sounds stupid." And lo, it is not stupid, it is incredibly hilarious and awesome. I heard my girlfriend say "Oh, that is the band Jenn likes, they have the show on HBO," and I thought "That is stupid! They are not the people with the show. They have to be totally different! It is a coincidence." And LO, I have been proven wrong again. Yea verily.
