Sagrada Familia Cathedral and Other UNESCO World Heritage Sites in LEGO

Photo: hatayanaorg favorite blog on all things LEGO (here’s one reason why), has a really neat post about the piece of Peace exhibit in Japan. It features UNESCO World Heritage sites built out of LEGO bricks by Kazuyoshi Naoe.

This one above is the Sagrada Familia cathedral, which looks just as impressive in real life.

I think the real church is pretty ugly myself. There are certain sculptures and features that are incredibly beautiful, but this side of the church that is depicted in Lego is hideous.

The sculptures on its other face are amazing and the flowers and stalks on the inside with the accompanying seating is stunning. The rest is crap.

I personally think Lego own Neatorama cause I have seen too many lame articales relating to Lego creations here.

I think part of the overall fascination with LEGO is that, deep down when I look at these creations, I think, "I could do that!" Of course I probably never will. But I still feel a sense of accomplishment without having to do anything. And that is a special feeling.

You should re-title this blog "Legomania" with all the lego stuff that you post. Have you mentioned this unhealthy fascination to your therapist?
