Insane Conspiracies That Actually Happened

Cracked.com has a very interesting post about 7 insane conspiracies that actually happened. For example, here's The Business Plot:

In 1933, group of wealthy businessmen that allegedly included the heads of Chase Bank, GM, Goodyear, Standard Oil, the DuPont family and Senator Prescott Bush tried to recruit Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler to lead a military coup against President FDR and install a fascist dictatorship in the United States. And yes, we're talking about the same Prescott Bush who fathered one US President and grandfathered another one.

See how the plot failed (obviously) and check out the rest of the list: Link - via Miss Cellania

It´s not the same, but I think it can fit here:

15 years ago, there was a terrorist group which fought against ETA (A terrorist group of Spain). The group was called GAL. They killed members of ETA, kidnapped them etc. But they, one day, kidnapped a inocent man thinking he was another person and the police found that some important persons of the government were behind the curtains of the GAL.

They had a lot of GAL to do that...

Did anyone else find some of these stories a bit fishy?

I have a pretty good bullshit meter, and a couple of the "conspiracy theories" sounds pretty far fetched. The

The Presscott Bush one for example. First, I have never even heard of this story. If that is the case then its probably BS cause his son and grandson were presidents. Secondly, His son fought in World War 2. Why would he fight for a government, when his father is attempting to overthrow it? Third, according to the article only one guy came out and said this. I could go to the senate and claim Alex is a terrorist planning to brainwash us with his neato website of jihaddism! But that would never get anywhere. (just like these guys were never charged at all).

Just so we're clear. I have no love for the Republican party, but I call em as I see em. and this stinks of Urban Legend!
