I never knew that guns sounded like what that lady told me they did. I learn something everyday I guess.

Glad they took a station and not the better suited place for the targeted teenager population such as a school/university… *humhum*

The ad is actually very innocent. It reminds me more of school children playing cowboys vs. indians.
But of course we
a) Shouldn’t call it “cowboys and indians” anymore.
b) Forbid children playing it because “disturbs the oublic safety” or something. -

Not necessarily ripped off Spaced. I mean, how many American advert producers would watch an English show? I think they just had the same idea.
Love the bit at the end with the guy in the car

Maybe I’m getting old, or maybe I dread the day that my son will demand an xbox 360 (or 720 or 2015 or whatever the hell they’ll be calling it by then) but I found that to be fairly horrifying. let’s glorify mass killing of people in public, good plan.

I don’t think it was a Spaced rip-off either. If anything, it’s a rip-off of the Syphon Filter PS1 ad that was banned way back when. (I wish I could find it on YouTube…)

This idea that nobody in America watches anything from outside the States is a myth. People in the entertainment industry are cultural omnivores precisely because they are constantly on the look-out for new ideas to bite. Ad agencies are not exactly known for their firm moral grounding and I for one would not put this past them.

Okay, for those of you who think this is a horrible thing that encourages kids to go shoot people.
This commercial has a joking attitude. Nobody was actually serious (as shown by the person in the car) about it. They were using their fingers guys, come on now. Also, I play first person shooter games all the time. I would honestly be afraid to pick up any actual gun. They’re just not my thing, I don’t like them.
Really, the people that play first person shooters and actually think about doing violent things that are sometimes shown in those games are messed up in the head.
