A genius thing!
It works perfectly (although indeed a little confusing, for beginners in Geometry ...), and it keeps unaltered all the rules of covnventional chess, that is, you don't have to learn much thing new (besides not to get dizzy with the understanding of the M. C. Escher (see Wiki ...) craziness of the looks of it

Wonderful! Can hardly wait to try it. I think I'll have to make one out of paper, so as to try, cause I won't buy it for now ... (No money ...)

My brother has one of those. The strategical part is really interesting : since the first one to checkmate any opponent wins, if you are about to do so, the third opponent is going to team up with the would-be-checkmated to save themselves. Tricky, but it goes for a well balanced game.

Try it with "Tempete sur l'echiquier" (http://www.chessvariants.com/cards.dir/tempete.html, "Knightmare Chess" for the English version of the game) Headache incomimg!

The link goes to a post explaining all the moves, with pictures of possible paths. Yes, the bishop can choose which direct path to take through the center.

I see three black squares with their corners touching.
