Nestography: Retro Video Game Screenshot + Caption

Posted by Alex in Toy & Video Games on March 4, 2008 at 12:24 pm

Nestography is a project by Adam Mathes where he took screenshots of retro 8-bit video games and caption them with poignant, witty, and yes, even snarky comments.

I like this one, from the Nintendo Duck Hunt game I used to play when I was a young boy. Link - via Ample Sanity, Thanks Bot!

Who didn’t love Duck Hunt? That was one of the best games ever. It is just funny when I look at these games like Excite bike another one of my favorites from back in the day, how plain it looks. Especially when you move to games like Gears of War.

i loved duck hunt, but i hate that stupid dog! I get 200 ducks in a row, no problem…. but i miss 1 bloody duck and he stands up and laughs at me?!?! what kind of loyalty is that?

Who here never tried to shoot the stupid mutt?

It’s nice to see the classic screens, but the quotes aren’t doing a thing for me.

I agree with MightyCow… the nostalgia content is high, but the quotes are pretty useless.

The caption for Duckhunt is particularly lacking in wit. Clearly they didn’t let all the ducks fly away that day, as there was only one shot left and there were several ducks recorded as hit.

There is funnier things that can be done with a shot like this. The walk down memory lane is worth it though. To avoid this problem as a whole all you have to do is hold the down button on the second controller though.. I mean c’mon!!
