Where Are They Now: M*A*S*H Characters

What happened to the cast of M*A*S*H? Miss Cellania wrote this neat post on YesButNoButYes:

Although the Korean War only lasted three years, the cast of M*A*S*H was with us every week for eleven years. The final episode on February 28, 1983 was the most watched episode in American TV ever, drawing 106 million viewers, or 77% of the audience that night. It’s been twenty-five years since we said Goodbye, Farewell and Amen; let’s see what the gang has been up to since then.

I just found out that Jamie Far, who played Klinger in the TV series, published a children's book and sponsored a golf tournament; and Wayne Rogers who played Trapper John McIntyre is now in stock investment field.

Great find, loved the show and catch reruns all the time. Especially like the follow up on minor characters and the Jeff Maxwell interview was good for a few chuckles.

M*A*S*H makes me think of my great-grandmother Nellie who was a devotee. She died at 103 years old in 1985.

Most memorable quote from my grandmother:

(pointing to me)

"Shouldn't he have a haircut?"

Amazing how a show can freeze people in time. They seemed untemporal, but they're all in their late 60's now.

Anyway great show ; one of the best episodes for me was when Hawkeye became 'mad' when a woman chocked her own baby to keep him silent. A mix of humour and war gut wrenching reality.

For porpoises of historical accuracy, Miss C's statement, "Although the Korean War only lasted three years..." is in error. There was only detente; neither side surrendered, and it's been the longest US naval operation in history.

The movie (starring Eliot Gould as Trapper John and Donald Sutherland as Hawkeye)was much better. Anyway, go on about your TV show. Sorry to interrupt.

Never could get into MASH. I remember it as being kinda preachy - "war is hell". Yeah, I know...

Funny how we identify actors so much with the characters they portray that the title "MASH Characters" was used.
