Now that was awesome. I don’t know why but I like the Saul Bass style of intros its just so retro and futuristic at the same time.

this doesn’t really look like saul bass’s work; the illustrations are definitely a good approximation of the style at the time, but the motion graphic work itself is simple text movement and stuff. looks cool, but not really sold on the concept.

I don’t mind if it’s not exactly like Saul Bass, I liked it. I love intros like these and I like how some movies/cartoons use similar concepts with the big band music. The Incredibles, Monsters, Inc. and Cowboy Bebop come to mind.

I like the idea, but Star Wars was specifically known for NOT having opening credits. This was a big deal at the time. Wikipedia has the write up if you google it.

Whoa, I love it!
But I still think the original Star Wars intro (including the opening sequence) is the best ever.

George Lucas got a huge slap on the wrist for not having opening credits. They fined him big-time for it.
This didn’t really seem inventive enough.
Catch me if you Can is a good example.
