Cutting Down A Tree With A Minigun

The folks at Mythbusters are at it again. This time Kari Byron tested to see how long it would take for a M-134 Minigun to fell a tree. This neat clip demonstrates the gun's amazing rapid rate of fire. Oh! and yes...it took 45 seconds to bring down the tree!!

Agreed. Those who actually watched this episode would know that the MB team took trees that had already been felled and dug the logs in the ground for the purposes of this busting. In general, the team usually does their best at being economically and environmentally responsible for all their "pointless experiments" (e.g., scavaging scrap yards, re-using equipment and materials). As for why? Well, they're not called Mythbusters (not to mention this website isn't Neatorama) for nothing.

Agreed brian. They probably missed 50% of the time at least.

Also, was anyone else surprised at how there was no visible recoil? I'm sure mounting it helped, but it didn't seem to be recoiling at all.
