		<description>John Cage famously used a map in writing a piece, combing a read through the I Ching with a phone book and then mapping the addresses that resulted onto a map overlaid onto a musical staff.

Also - not map related but still similar - a program called MetaSynth allowed import of digital images and &quot;mapping&quot; onto frequencies, and true to his past (captivatingly disturbing) work, Aphex Twin incorporated an image of his face into a track on the Windowlicker EP.  Google it, and be prepared to shiver :)
