As a little girl in Chicago watching John Coleman do the weather he was always a fave…very funny he was, but then the gorgeous (too bad we all get old and fat) Storm Field filled in for John when John was on vacation and boyeee…we all sat there watching this slick NY weatherman…he captured out hearts and after the weather, Dad inquired, “so how’s it going to be tomorrow”, and not one of us girls knew…we were just so enthralled with this handsome young man named Storm Field…what a name!…Now we have locally on Fox a gal named Amy Freeze.

You’d think that were the case, but they never take advantage of the fact that his name rhymes with “doppler.” Also, his father was a weatherman for the same station.

On KOMO news 4 on the Northwest Peninsula we’ve got Andy Wappler on the doppler radar. i always thought he had had to changed his name to get the job to something.

what wasn’t mentioned is that Frank Field was himself a meteorologist, Frank and Storm are a well known weather person father and son duo.

In Atlanta, we have Flip Spiceland. I’m not sure if he’s the weather guy or not, it’s just a fun name for anyone on TV news.

Amy Freeze here in Chicago.
When I lived in Philadelphia, there was a weather reporter named Glenn Schwartz, but he actually uses his nickname on air as his first name… Hurricane. So yes, he’s on air as Hurricane Schwartz.

or how about Pete Sack from NBC out of Chicago. His name has nothing to do with weather but it always makes me smile every time I see it. Their morning anchor named Dick Johnson is just as childishly funny.
