Christopher Walken Dances!

Posted by Alex in Music on February 5, 2008 at 5:28 am

I learned something new about Christopher Walken: before he became an actor, he was trained as a dancer in musical theater.

Here’s a clip of him dancing to Weapon of Choice by Fatboy Slim. (This was in 2001, so he was 58 at the time) Awesome! Link [embedded YouTube]

Christopher Walken tries to incorporate a little dance into each of his film roles. Sometimes just a subtle little shuffle or step will make it in, or nothing at all. It’s really cool, but kind of just makes me look for the dance moves now. Almost like looking for Hitchcock in his films.

    haha awesome!

I had no idea it was him in this video! I guess I really didn’t know who he was back then. I mean, of course he’s been acting for years and years, but I’ve only just started to see him a lot in the past year or so…Man of the Year, Balls of Fury (which was such a great role for him!), Hairspray…

    Can’t wait to see more!

Wow…welcome to 2001, neatorama. What would happen if maybe there was a website where everyone could post their videos and share them with the world? We could call it metube! And maybe a website that posts old music videos that everyone has seen from 7 years ago and other stuff that was cool back then. It’s like living in Des Moines here, its 7 years in the past.

I saw an interview with Christopher where he mentioned his song and dance background. He said he tries to incorporate a few dance moves into all his roles.

Ah, Walken. He can take a mediocre film and turn it into something brilliant. I love him when he takes creepy and scary roles.

man, one of the things I like about neatorama is that it reminds me of all the neat old stuff that i’ve seen before but forgotten. Just because it’s old doesn’t make it any less neat.

Christopher Walken is one of those actors who likes to have sex with men, not that there’s anything wrong with that. He’s commonly known as the ‘Ladies Man’ but he’s really a Lady Man. Just wanted to Out him.
