That dog looked like he was enjoying that. Just make sure you don’t have him around a birthday party.

on the youtube page, the video owner says “He’s a freak! We may try again tonight…it’s 9*F here in SD, it’s a holiday weekend, we have some balloons, and have lots of time. Rest assured, I’ll post it if he beats his record!”

    ahh, indoor winter entertainment!

also, i love how the dog tap-scurry-dances on the cardboard to get at the balloons. scrappity tappity tap!

I hate to “crash the party,” so to speak, but they really should be more careful doing that. All it will take is one bit of balloon to get lodged in that dog’s throat for him to suffocate to death. My brother almost died biting in a balloon that popped because of a piece only a little larger than a quarter…

    @Betty
Hence my worldwide effort to banish those air-filled rubber-skinned harbingers of death.

Thanks for pointing that out Betty, it wouldn’t be so funny if he did start choking and no one knew how to give a dog heimlich. He’s cute and all.. but that’d be sad.

(Crashing the party aside) Betty is right: latex balloon is the leading cause of child suffocation.

We were warned about latex balloon when we had our first baby. Turns out if a piece of the balloon gets lodged in the airway, it’s almost always impossible to get it out in time (special medical equipment is required) - my wife’s pretty wary of letting her play with it ever since.

Another thing is hot dog. I’ve always pooh-poohed this one, till a close friend of mine said that he once witnessed a kid choking on a piece of hot dog and actually died before medical help arrived.

Folks, it’s about a cute little dog popping balloons. It’s not about you, your stinking dog, or your baby - or your baby’s weiner. Start your own threads people! This one’s just here to bring some laughs.

No kidding about balloons being dangerous. I know someone who died years ago by inhaling a piece of balloon that they popped with their mouth. I could only imagine how quickly a small dog would die if the same thing happened to it.

Just trying to be helpful…wouldn’t want you to lose your pooch.

Yes, lets all start a list of normal everyday stuff or activities that have even a miniscule chance of causing someone (or something) harm or death.

To make it easier - lets just list the stuff that’s 100% safe (assuming such a thing actually exists).

Is that the same kind of dog used in Rat Baiting?

Seems like the skill was bred into ‘em.

Yes yes, and I’m sure all that latex will give him cancer or something.
You people are such DOWNERS today.

Holee crap, call The Authorities! Those people obviously have no regard for the life of that dog and MUST be stopped!!

Or, maybe it’s just funny & innocent. Yeah, I’ll go with that.
