  I have a little knowledge of Scientology from having a former boss who was involved in it. She left her job to work in the local Scientology office. Scientology is a life-destroying, mind-controlling cult.

  You don’t have to know Tom Cruise first-hand to pass an opinion on the rubbish he’s spewing here. You don’t have to be a Scientologist to know about its wishy-washy hocus-pocus “science”. Or is it a “religion”?

  From e-meters that essentially do nothing to space stories about Xenu and body Thetans, it’s all hogwash, designed to make money off of lonely, gullible people.

  Scientology as an organized group is absolutely frightening and I wouldn’t trust any one of them to be an auditor. The only videos I’ve ever seen with people following dianetics where they were actually able to make some sense of what scientology were the videos on Freezoners. There was one on videosift that was about an hour long hosted by the comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli. It was pretty interesting getting an outside view of what all the hubub is over Scientology (aside from publicly decrying the evils of particular people using psychs and and turning people into walking cliche vendors)

  All religions have a creation myth, or theory, if you so choose. Do any of you know the creation myth of Scientology. It claims that humans on Earth are the ‘leftovers’ from the spirits and souls of beings tossed into the volcanic void that was this planet BEFORE it became this planet. We’re all constructed of the remnants of sinful, evil beings cast off from another planet by their mighty, magical leader. We, in our ‘goodness’ are what survived after the evil was reduced by the fires of ‘hell’, or, Earth in this case. We’re bound and determined to take the ‘hell’ out of this…’hell’.

  Beyond the lunacy of Tom Cruise’s rambling thoughts is the ultimate fact that this CULT was created by a science fiction writer. What else do you need to know?

  Oh, how about this. You don’t get to learn the creation myth of Scientology until you have given the organization enough…MONEY! Tom Cruise himself was not told until, reportedly, he’d given the cult over $4 million. I’ve read the creation myth of Scientology (didn’t cost me a penny) and it’s filled with Zorlocks and Xycoms and Prolandias and such (all word made up by me, but you get the spacey-ass, scienceFICTIONtology drift I’m bringin’.)

  Come on people, pull your heads out…Scientology has its place: in the mind of any certifiable looney.

  So a long time ago, I was really into studying “alternate” religions. I read about Buddhism, and Taoism, and Islam, and Wicca, and Modern Gnosticism. Now, while I was reading up on Aleister Crowley I came across a link between him and L Ron Hubbard. Turns out Hubbard and the famous Jack Parsons (founder of Jet Propulsion laboratories) were both members of Crowley’s religious organization O.T.O. But apparently Hubbard tried to swindle Parsons. Well this intrigued me, so I went and bought a used copy of Dianetics and tried to read it. I got about two chapters in before I had to put it down and walk away. Never in all my life (with the exception of a few passages out of “Mein Kampf”) have I read something so haltingly biased with large sweeping generalizations geared towards validating peoples xenophobic world views. Even better, I could not get this notion out of me that the book was backing up all this with some twisted form of Freudian psychology, which is funny when you realize that Scientology is the group that runs the Psychiatry Kills Museum in Los Angeles. Well this was about ten years ago. Then a couple months ago I had gone on a wikipidia read (following link after link) when I came across Jack Parsons and Hubbard again. While reading about initial reactions to Dianetics I came across a quote by Jack Williamson describing Dianetics as: “a lunatic revision of Freudian psychology.” I know I’m just tooting my own horn here, but man that validation feels good.   personally, i think that Mike Huckabee saying that it is easier to change the constitution (add in an amendment banning gay marriage and banning abortion) than it is to change God’s word is 1000 times more scary and 1000 times more nuts than anything tom has said or will say. that man is actually running for president and people have actually voted for him in the primaries!

  If the media didn’t like him, he wouldn’t be acting anymore. If anything the media is embracing his new life and won’t shut up about him.

  How do you know we know nothing about it? News flash, there are books out there about Scientology, published by the founder of Scientology explaining what it is. Are you in junior high or something? Maybe it’s YOU who needs to read up on Scientology instead of defending some actor with a bad haircut who does movies that are one hit wonders and will never become classics.

  A friend of mine lived with a room mate who is a Scientologist. He has all his stuff packed up in boxes; the guy disappeared. Not even his family knows where he is. The world has to wake up and ban this religion before it gets out of hand. I believe Germany has banned Scientology.
