Mohandas Gandhi LEGO Minifig

The Brothers Brick blog is starting what I believe will be a very neat series: historical figures … in LEGO minifigs!

This one, if you haven’t guessed it already, is Mohandas Gandhi.

The Gandhi one is cute, but I wouldn't have guessed it was Ganhdi. I think a spinning wheel would have been more appropriate than the staff, which could call to mind Moses, Brigham Young, and a host of others. The spinnning wheel is pure Ganhdi ...

I would have thought it was Roosevelt (walk softly, carry big stick guy....) skinny-dipping!

This is Salt March Gandhi, but why didn't I think of a spinning wheel?! And Stripper Gandhi (collect them all!) -- that just made me LOL!

Thanks for the plug Alex! Yesterday's featured person was South African activist and martyr Steve Biko, and since today is MLK's birthday, look for him this evening.

Should have had round glasses, more of a humble look. It looks like Arnold Schwarzenegger in the role of Gandhi.

it's not mohandas. it's mahatma; it means great one in hindi.

Um... "Mohandas" was his given first name, rebecca. "Mahatma" is more of an honorific applied to him (and others ... it's not unique to Gandhi).

The link that Eugenio Martinez suggested is basically linkjacked from Brickshelf user Morgan19's gallery, previously covered in Neatorama here.

Linkjacking is one of my pet peeves...
