Of course “the environmentalists” aren’t amused. It’s a pretty pointless and dumb stunt, considering NZ tries to promote it’s “clean and green” image (which is a pretty thin cover anyways unfortunately).

Who cares what the environmentalists think. Ask race car fans or speed junkies what they think, they’re obviously going to be more entertained by something like this.
So someone wasted a few thousand gallons of fuel on a publicity stunt, big deal.

Top Gear (one of which’s presenters is featured in the Omaha Battle clip) recently pitted a Bugatti Veyron against an RAF Typhoon jet. However in this race, there was a mile out and in-bound leg. And the jet went up the same distance the car went forwards.
