World's Highest Bungee Jump

The Macau Tower is an icon of Macau and one of the most advanced towers on the planet. At a height of 338 meters (1108 feet) high the tower doubles as an urban playground and place for people of all ages and abilities to challenge themselves for a good 'ol bungee jump.

In this clip, this guy felt compelled to give it a try by bungee jumping off the Tower. The jump is considered to be the world’s highest commercial bungee jump.

“Why live life on the edge when you can JUMP OFF IT” - AJ HACKETT

Isn't it true that if you fall for a certain amount of time (like falling from the Empire State Building) you will either lose consciousness or actually die before you hit the ground?

How far can a person free-fall safely?

Or, am I wrong?

First: I'm with "TwoDee." That made me nervous just looking at it.

Second: Am I the only person on the planet that gets "irked" when people flash the sign language sign for "I love you" when they mean to flash the horns of rock?

Tuck that thumb in! You look ridiculous!

You can fall for as long as you like. I'm a skydiver. I fall for 45-60 seconds multiple times every weekend. It doesn't hurt. It isn't uncomfortable. You can breath, though a lot of us prefer to use closed-face helmets with a shield in the front. Using those you breath no differently than standing on the ground. Though I guess most of us actually use them for face protection when jumping with others.

That's amazing. AJ Hackett is quite the adventurist (new word to be over used in 2008 maybe). I was in New Zealand in 2003, and did the AJ Hackett Nevis Highwire bungy jump - 134 meters, which at the time was the highest bungy in the world. It was terrifying, more so than the sky diving I did a few days earlier on the trip in Rotorua. I can't believe he's added another 99 meters to that! If you like adventure I recommend going to Queenstown NZ. The free fall on the Nevis is said to be 8.5 seconds. The added fun with the Nevis is you’re over a canyon, so on the second bounce you have to pull a cord to release your feet, which turns you up right, so they can pull you the 134 meters back up to the gondola…also pretty scary.

I live in Macau and I've done the jump. I did it back when it was the Sky Jump. Instead of a bungee it was a controlled 70 km/h descent on a steel cable. It was only scary for half a second then you just sort of hung there going down.
This one is pretty fun though and because the bungee is so long it slows down rather gracefully and doesn't yank your spine violently.
The hardest part is about the minute or so it takes to lower you down to the air cushion during which your blood starts rushing to your head so you have to stare at your feet.
You also get a card so your second and third jumps cost something like 60% and the fourth one is free.

The jump is absolutely spectacular and is one of the highest in the world. There are however one i colorado where you jump 320m of a bridge.

Have fun

I've done a number of Bungees. Bloukrans, Vic Falls and others. Still maintain Nevis in NZ was the best. Not sure how (as Bloukrans is much higher) but far more freefall.
