You are probably aware of the annual hajj, or pilgrimage, to the city of Mecca, but did you know about Mount Athos, which bars women? Or Sri Pada, the mountaintop that is sacred to four religious groups? Or the cathedral which is supposed to contain the Ark of the Covenant? Check out the mental_floss post “10 Gorgeous Pilgrimage Sites Even Atheists Can Admire!” This picture shows Sri Harmandir Sahib, a Sikh site in Amritsar, India. Link

I am sick and tired of this BCE and CE crap. We have been using the “bc” and “ad” for a thousand years now, get use to it. it is crap like that that makes atheist so annoying!

There is nothing beuatiful about any islamic mosque. They are all hotbeds of the murderous cult of islam. They love death, they love blood and they love beating the piss out of women.

All islmaic entities should be razed and all muslims should be eliminated.

Pudifoot – Don’t you think you’re over-reacting? Why should the rest of us have to acknowledge your god every time we write the date?

Anyhoo, mildly interesting post, though I have no desire to ever go to any of those places.

    Small point

“Sri Harmandir Sahib, a Sikh site in Amritsar”

    is a bit like saying

The Vatican , a catholic site in northern Italy.

The Golden Temple is the Big Kahuna for Sihks.

All religions are nonsense but of them alll I like Sihkism best.

    Good bunch of people.

As for the screaming invectiveofthe second post, well that is out and out poppycock.

Irrespective of what anyone thinks of Islam or any religion you can’t get around the fact that the architecture is beautiful.

From the dome of the rock to Moorish Spain, those lads knew what they were doing with a building.

The Vatican IS a Catholic site in northern Italy. Unless you are Catholic, the understatement is understandable.
