Boy Glued Hand to Bed to Avoid Going to School

By Alex in Baby & Kids on Jan 8, 2008 at 2:28 pm

Like many of ten-year-old children, Diego Palacios didn’t want to go back to school after the Christmas break. So much so that he decided to … glue himself to his bed!

His mom called in the paramedics after she failed to free him herself, and she sent Diego to school a few hours later! Link – via reddit

Hmmm, I wonder if I could try that for getting out of going to work…

When I was in 2nd grade I woke up early to bury my backpack thinking that I couldn’t go to school if I didn’t have a backpack, but this is some next level s#@t.

Makes me weap for the future of the planet to hear how pitiful the children of today behave.

Somehow I think that if I tried this, I would be going to school with a sawed-off piece of bed glued to my hand.

This definitely trumps the old light bulb + thermometer trick – “Oh, I see you have a temperature of 110… funny, you don’t look like you’re dead.”

It’s hard to say what the boy was feeling. I’m not on the side of most here who commented. There are several children who do not do emotionally well in school and as teens end their lives because no one cared to listen or tend to issues too big for them as children who cried for the attention. Something to chew on.
