I blame the girl, notice her beer had such velocity it has spouted up and arched over, so then with her overzealous clink she broke the guys glass while hers is still in-tacked. However this is to her demise as it is his beer that has splattered all over her while her “arch” doesn’t manage to reach him..

is she red from embarrassment? or is that just the alcohol?
best part: the look on the guy’s face, because he’s utterly disappointed that his beer is everywhere else but inside his mug. sad.

Sure I’m a nitpicker, but the word is “Hofbräuhaus”, not “Hofbrauhaus”. The “ä” and “a” are different letters. If you can’t or don’t know how to make an umlauted letter, use an “e” after the “a”, as in Hofbraeuhaus.

@ Sid:
Uhm, no, it’s Hofbrauhaus.
It comes from brauen - to brew. -

@ retrokatze….
Not to be persistently contrarian, but check out the site for the *actual* Hofbräuhaus München (Munich Hofbräuhaus):
http://www.hofbraeuhaus.de/en/index_en.htmlNote:
1. The presence of the umlaut in the word all over the site. Me thinks they know how to spell it.
2. In the URL (which doesn’t do diacritical characters), they transliterate their “ä” into an “ae” to make it “hofbraeuhaus” as I suggested.Oans, zwoa, g’suffa!

PS — I forgot one thing… yes, the word does descend from brauen (to brew), but the noun form for “brew” is “das Bräu”

@ Sid:
Ah ja, die Bayern mal wieder (und Hamburg macht’s nach… -_-;)However, there also exist Hofbrauhäuser and as the Neatorama-Article didn’t specify in which Bra/äuhaus this photo was shot, declaring that Brauhaus must always be spellt Bräuhaus would deny the existence of the Hofbrauhäuser and with them their brands of beer (which is a very cruel thing to do) and be pretty misleading to boot, don’tcha think?

@Alex-
Been there, done that, got my ass kicked. I went up against a guy who was the biggest champion in years and the categories stacked in his favor as well. Thanks for the vote of confidence, though
Maybe QI will come to the States someday…
