Headlight Slippers

(Metacafe link)

Make your own LED slippers, so you won’t trip over toys while making your way to the bathroom at night. They may also help you to avoid cats, but only if they are stationary. -via Unique Daily

I wonder if they’re powered by a small cup of STUPID?

doesn’t seem too practical.. they won’t be comfortable, because of the bumps in the insole, and the sudden bursts of light will make it harder to see, since the eye can’t adjust to such quick changes in light source…

also the light only comes on when the foot is down, which doesn’t help you see where to place the foot that is in the air moving forward.
    kinda clever idea though.

is also almost as clever as the guy who invented a laptop case to look like a pizza box so business men wouldn’t get mugged. (http://www.humanbeans.net/powerpizza/)
Now any businessman i saw carrying a “pizza box” on the tube to work at 7am in the morning would be my first target if i was a mugger! lol

I assume you mean only if the cats are stationary, and not if the slippers are.

Not a totally stupid concept, but poor execution.

I think you should just glue tiny bells onto your slipper to alert the cat that you’re coming. ;)
