Tacky Christmas Yards collects and critiques photographs of homes decorated with Christmas lights. “Violations” include mixing themes, lawn characters of different sizes, unharmonious arrangements, multiple Clauses, and overdone lighting. Several houses in my town would put these to shame, especially the few that put Santa on the roof of the nativity stable. Link -via the Presurfer

    drive down rt.1 between richmond and fredericksburg VA - this area has quite a penchant for the huge inflateable lawn ornaments. The only thing sadder is to see them deflated and lifeless.

    Just got back from Kauai, and I have to say I've never seen so many tacky, over the top Christmas decorations in my life! When people in Kauai decorate for Christmas, it's like they vomit out every decoration available at Walmart. Instead of getting one of each decoration they get like 10!!! I didn't not see a single house tastefully decorated that whole time I was there!
