Meeting Evel was great, he was not some comic book hero that was painted out of someones imagination, he was a real man and a real American. Now at the age of 44 there were only a couple of people that were my "hero's" if you will. 1. My Dad - the man that i still hope to grow up to be (big shoes). 2. Evel Kenevel - the man that my mother and father prayed i did not try to become (to late- already jumping bicycles and getting hurt by then). 3. T/F Dragbike racer, The late/great Elmer Trett- If you dont know his name, well that is not my fault (google it). No matter what you think of Evel you cannot take away the most important part. He was a self made man, made mistakes and paid for them, took chances and paid for them also. He made his living entertaining us, he wore the #1 Plate with pride with the colors of our country- RED-WHITE-BLUE. He was more of an american than a lot of us will ever be. An American Flag in the yard, another in the car, these colors are for freedom they are who we are. He is the man that every boy wanted to be or be like (me included).
