This awesome photo, taken from the space station MIR in 1999, shows the shadow of the moon on earth during a lunar solar eclipse! It’s part of a collection of pictures taken from satellites or space flights that capture weather effects, geographical changes, or other phenomema. Link

Top Ten Evil Computers

Posted by Miss Cellania in Movies & SciFi on November 1, 2007 at 10:49 pm

150_NomadThis list only deals with fictional computers. I’m not familiar with all of them, but I recall having nightmares as a child after seeing Nomad in the Star Trek episode The Changeling. Of course, more evil computers are suggested in the comments. Link -via Cynical-C

Contest rules are simple: place your guess in the comment section, one guess per comment but you can enter as many times as you’d like. Please don’t post any URL – let others play! First guess to get it right will win the free T-shirt.

Update 11/02/07 – the answer is:

A piece of exercise equipment, to use, stand on a round plate, hold the handles tight with both hands, and turn the waist left and right.

150_gemkowAnne Gemkow of Chicago won a new Jeep in a Sweetest Day contest in Cleveland by licking a chocolate-covered Jeep grill clean! Seven Jeeps were covered in chocolate, and the first two contestants who licked their grills clean had to shuffle through a Jeep filled with candy to find the key. No word on how they removed the rest of the chocolate from the vehicles. Link -via Unique Daily
