What if the model for Michelangelo's "David" had a higher BMI?

He’d look like this. Lots more “Beautifully Big” art over at Florence Studios. Via.

"beautifully big"? okay, so there are some people that look decent "big", but I for one would not pay to go to a museum to see that.

you'll note the fat hanging over it...that's why so many men who lose weight appear to have a larger penis! The fat just doesnt cover it up anymore :P

He'd also be putting himself at higher risk for obesity-related diseases.

    I don't see how that's "beautiful".

    Cynics!

I thought this one was a funny adaptation - David is such an overblown cliché.

The rest of the site gave me chills. It's one thing to be comfortable with your body image - it's another to glorify gross obesity.

I think it's interesting that beautifully big is a body image as rare as those waifish supermodels. People with that high of a BMI are almost never that well proportioned. Symmetrical fat placement is just as genetic as symmetrical features.

    That's fat-astic!
