I still can't believe how seriously people treated that book in the first place. Seriously, I'd swear every other chapter ended with an ellipse...

It was funny.

I don’t know dummies. What ever made Da Vinci an authority on Christ, especially being born 1500 years after?

<i>"the individual that Dan Brown claimed to be Mary Magdalene in The Da Vinci Code"</i>

You mean the apostle John, right? No one in the know ever said it was anyone other than an effeminate-looking John until the "Priory" myth was conceived later on, which Dan Brown capitalized heavily on -- a full decade after Pierre Plantard himself admitted it was a complete fraud.

Doesn't look like a ring to me. If it is then it is strangely out of place.

Why do these things for viewing super highres images never let you expand the viewer to full screen?? I'm using a 1920 x 1200 display viewing a 16GP image but stuck in a tiny window around 720 x 400... It's like a giant leap forward & backward at the same time. The viewer at gigapan.org will let you view full screen though or full browser anyway.

dd - that's the neat thing about this project ... instead of being forced to blindly accept/deny Dan Brown's conspiracy theories, or my own, or anyone else's, you can look for yourself.

Ring or not, Jesus's right-hand man/woman still looks pretty effeminate.

don't know about the ring, but I just realized the "disembodied hand" holding the knife is really just the hand of that one guy folded back against his hip. Makes so much more sense now.

Actually, no! It looks like a ring on the first joint of the right middle finger, bizarrely.

But nevertheless, conspirators be damned!
