Creepy catacombs story

By Adam Stanhope in Travel, Video Clips on Oct 24, 2007 at 7:02 pm

We’ve had a post here recently about the Paris catacombs. I spent an afternoon in the catacombs myself in 2001 – pictures here. In the spirit of Halloween, here’s a creepy story about the catacombs on YouTube in two parts. Part 1 & Part 2. The catacombs are real – I don’t know about the story, however. What do you think?

i once watched this 2 hour documentary on bigfoot. at the end, their crowning proof of bigfoots existence was some unidentifiable hair in a hollowed out tree… 2 hours…. im glad this was only about 11 minutes… i was hoping for some kinda payoff at the end. oh well…

Somebody should make a movie about something like that. I dunno, maybe set it in the Maryland woods bear Burkittsville? What a cool idea. Wish I’d thought of it 10 years ago.

Yeah, it did have the taint of the BWP about it and I was a little disappointed at the anti climactic ending. 12 hours in the catacombs and they didn’t produce a whole lot of footage from down there.

Anybody else thing the narrator sounded like Sarah “Violet from the Incredibles” Vowell?

Dang! So that’s what happened to that camera!

I chased that sorry excuse of a spook through those stupid tunnels for hours. When I finally caught up to him I thought he was worn out; put the camera down to catch him, and what would you know he gets his second wind. Luckily I had a good grip on him as he flew through the tunnels. We ended up on the edge of Père-Lachaise Cemetery, and he was winded enough that I dragged him down & got him into the containment vessel. Dirty bugger won’t be bothering anybody else for a long, long, long time.

    Or maybe not.

Duh, the voice is the little person from Poltergeist, Zelda Rubinstein.

There’ll be no “duhs” in any of my threads, thank you very much.

it creeps me out, if i was lost in some catacomb, with bones everywhere, miles below ground, i would freak out too. I hope he got out okay!

I think the whole thing is possible. After all, the tunnels are extensive and finding someone down there would be near impossible.

Especially if the rats got to it!
