Lonely Candidates

A candidate running for office this election season is special – just like all candidates! Here’s a website that is dedicated to documenting just how special these politicians are:

Lonely Candidate tracks each and every time a candidate claims that they’re the only one with a unique quality, political stance or has taken a particular action. To wit:

Said Spokane Valley City Council candidate Rose Dempsey regarding a city ordinance: "Perhaps I’m the only person left in the world who likes signs."

A fun "Goodbye, sweet weekend" post: According to The Caucus, Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani is the only candidate to regularly wear an American flag pin on his lapel.

Said Gloucester, Mass., mayoral candidate Jeff Worthley after describing his unemployed status as a ideal situation for full-bore effort: "I"m the only candidate with no other commitments."

And this final gem:

Democrat and U.S. Senate campaign explorer Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer: "I’m the only candidate in this race who has a hyphenated last name."

Fuck Rudy. An American flag pin means NOTHING! Absolutely NOTHING!
