He’d have a hard time practicing in Britain. I heard they’ve banned long sleeves for “health reasons”.

Apparently so,but I doubt if a good doctor would be discriminated against because of his skin illustration ,as long as the tattoos themselves weren’t offensive against any particular person or group of people.
I think he looks fabulous! -

If he pays more attention to patients than my general practitioner, who hardly has 3 minutes to spare even after I’ve waited 45 minutes in a dingy lobby, he’s fine by me! God, you gotta love the American healthcare system.

The material is interesting, but the flash website is very annoying to navigate.

I hope it’s not a Caduceus as that would be incorrect being the Greek symbol of commerce.
The medical symbol is in fact the rod of Asclepius, which has 1 snake rather than 2.
Trauma Center made the same mistake by naming the organisation Caduceus.
2 fun facts for today… -

Not sure where Ben got his information. My Merriam-Webster specifically lists this as the definition of caduceus (I point specifically to def #2):
1. the symbolic staff of a herald; specifically : a representation of a staff with two entwined snakes and two wings at the top
2 : an insignia bearing a caduceus and symbolizing a physician -

i would actually be cool with an inked doctor ~ i think that it shows signs of intelligence for him. . . creative, individual, artisitic, free thinking. i would love a doctor that thinks outside of the box.

Simon, Ben is referring to the fact that the cadaceus is the symbol of the greek god Hermes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermes). The rod of Asclepius is “the original medical symbol” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asclepius).
See http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/5121716 for details.
In summary, both are symbols of medicine today. But, the cadaceus is only a symbol of medicine due to someone in the US Army medical department messing up back in 1902.
