Animated Knots by Grog is a website that, as the name suggests, explains how to tie some common (and some uncommon) knots with a series of step-by-step pictures.

Like this one to the left, which is called the Monkey Fist (really!)

    A Monkey Fist is easy to make, and makes a good throw toy for a dog. Or to throw a line ashore from a boat, their original purpose.

    I believe the monkey fist was the knot aimed at James Bond’s nether regions in the ‘Casino Royale’ torture sequence.
