A Chinook helicopter is tied down for a ground resonance test. Those who know say they are more stable in the air. Push play or go to Live Leak. -via Arbroath
A colleague of mine used to fly them for the Navy. He said they were a pleasure to fly and much more maneuverable and stable than other helicopters their size because of the dual rotors. He also said because of the way they are constructed they can fly backwards as fast as they can fly forwards. THAT blew my mind.
Darn! I saw this last week and *almost* posted it myself, but then I got busy and forgot all about it. Glad you caught it, Miss Cellania (and Arbroath!)
