We've got cicadas around here atm and they sound exactly like those scissor grinder ones, actually I came across a pair on the ground earlier this evening and they scared the bejeebus out of me with the sounds they made - I hadn't realized they were there and man, are those suckers LOUD! But somehow so very soothing, I wish that site played those recordings on a continuous loop as they'd be lovely to go to sleep to ... (heh, and my cat can apparently vouch for the authenticity of those recordings, he never pays any mind to my computer but just now as I was playing those clips he came over -mightily- intrigued by the exciting insect noises ...) Wow, I love those.
