DIY Laser Pointer

In other words, don’t use it in presentations, or to play with pets, or allow children to use it. It should only be operated by responsible persons who understand and respect the potential laser safety hazards.”

  What the heck DO you use it for, then?

  A problem with building this device is that you end up with something that looks like a safe flashlight that may damage your eyes if you look into it. Imagine someone turning it on, wondering why it’s not shining properly and looking into it to see what’s wrong.

  Better to build this into a gun - at least most people will know not to point one at themselves if they happen upon one.
