These garments aren't designed to prevent you getting stabbed, you would need to spend a few hundred quid on a proper stab vest, which are heavy and often unbreathable due to the syringe/needle point barrier membrane regularly incorporated. Besides in "Stabbings" i think the emphasis is on the pointy end being thrust into you rather than being slashed. Then again I've never been attacked with a knife.
