The Bladerunner Slash Resistant Hoodie

The manufacturer says:

This top is light and comfortable to wear yet rugged enough to survive the threats of life.

The Slash Resistant lining gives you peace of mind that you are giving yourself personal protection in today’s unpredictable world.

I am skeptical. There are tougher and more comfortable fabrics than kevlar. As an example, I would think Cordura would be much better in a slash resistant jacket.

Neat idea but that video was bizarrely edited. Besides in "Stabbings" i think the emphasis is on the pointy end being thrust into you rather than being slashed. Then again I've never been attacked with a knife.

Oh! And I thought the "Bladerunner" was misleading...I so wanted a cool futuristic coat with lights!

Is slash-resistant the same as stab-resistant? I assume most mortal wounds are of the stabbing kind, not the slashing ones.

The "threats of life"? Pessimistic bunch, aren't they?

Ali, you're exactly right. I should have warned that the hoodie was lame-looking.

why don't they just put that cloth on the outside?

is there any purpose for the outside cloth, at all?

    That's not a knife.

    THAT's a knife.

What if they slash/stab you in the face?

I could see it being useful against a stanley knife or a broken bottle. These garments aren't designed to prevent you getting stabbed, you would need to spend a few hundred quid on a proper stab vest, which are heavy and often unbreathable due to the syringe/needle point barrier membrane regularly incorporated.
