Old People Got it Goin' On!

Just because they’re older it doesn’t mean that seniors aren’t getting any. According to a recent survey by Dr. Stacy Lindau and Professor Edward Laumann of the University of Chicago, old age is ‘no barrier’ to sex life:

In a survey of 3,005 people aged 57 to 85, a significant number said they were sexually active into their 70s and 80s.

He could’ve just asked the 90-year-old Indian guy who just fathered his 21st child!

I'm pleased to see no "Ewww, old people having sex is icky!" comments here. That's the main reaction I've been seeing on other blogs to this survey. You know, you don't actually have to turn in your genitalia and sex drive when you hit some arbitrary 60+ page, and if you live to be that long, you'll be grateful for that!

Er, that should be "age" rather than "page". As you were!

Maybe, we should, ya know not post this stuff. I love you to death neatorama, but really, I don't need to know about gramdma and grandpa. I really shudder at this.

I think the lead author is Dr. Stacy Lindau not Laumann. (http://www-news.uchicago.edu/releases/07/070822.sexualattitudes.shtml  )

The lead PI for this study was actually Dr. Stacy Lindau. I'm sure it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. But I work for her so I thought I'd let y'all know.

    Wow, "a significant number"!!

I love specific statistics. You might as well not have told me anything.
